This is a Full Floor Loft, 3,500 sq. ft. two-phased project: Gut-Renovation and Interior Design / Decoration. The design is contemporary and modern (elegant and warm). It has certain design elements inspired by Japanese and Scandinavian aesthetics. All the work is custom and uniquely conceived and designed for this space and client.
Prewar, Classic-8, UWS
This is a Classic-8 apt at The Belnord, 3,200 sq. ft Interior Design / Decoration and partial Restoration project.

Everyone has a comfort zone. What if we explored its boundaries?
“As a New Yorker, I view design from a multicultural, multi-sensory perspective – where contrast, juxtaposition, asymmetry and tension are elements that can elevate and enrich. Informed by NYC’s swirling eclecticism, its grit, funk and sophistication, I enjoy mixing it up.”(Galo).
Prewar Contemporary, Classic-6, 5th Ave
This is an UES Classic-6 apt, two-phased project: Gut-Renovation and Interior Design / Decoration all seamlessly, simultaneously integrated and executed. This is a harmonious blend of classical prewar and contemporary design.

All the work is custom and uniquely conceived and designed for this space and client.
“Galo focuses on the last inch – what you see, touch and live with every day – as well as the architectural skeleton. The result is a balanced home that feels luxurious but is always livable – a place that has its own unique sense of self without sacrificing comfort or warmth.”

Diverse sources of inspiration.
As a New Yorker, I view design from a multicultural, multi-sensory perspective – where contrast, juxtaposition, asymmetry and tension are elements that can elevate and enrich. Informed by NYC’s swirling eclecticism, its grit, funk and sophistication, I enjoy mixing it up – and working with like-minded clients. To do so, I take inspiration from many different design styles, periods, movements and cultures:
- Early and mid-20th-century modern architecture and interior design
- Japanese architecture, interiors and aesthetics
- Scandinavian interior and furniture design
- The expansive urban lofts of New York City
- The order, grandeur and hierarchy of space found in classical western architecture and design
- My treks around the globe, where the varied countries, cultures, people and their uniqueness have all influenced and added to my global aesthetic vision
A reverence for light, space, and nature.
Another great source of inspiration is nature in all its profound grandeur and beauty. The light, vivid colors, sheer rawness, asymmetry, openness, macro & micro symbiosis and vast diversity yet brilliant simplicity are all elements of nature that connect greatly with us.
We design open, airy, and elegant spaces where light is an essential element, and where rooms and spaces move and breathe into one another (the open-plan concept). We value the honest expression and purity of natural materials. Always with the utmost attention to detail, we believe that the hallmark of good design is that it stands the test of time.
Eco friendly design and sustainability.
We’re passionate about the environment, ecology and making an impact through green design (when possible).
We’re interested in how green design and biophilic design (elements) can have a very positive impact on interior (live & work) environments. We welcome the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded clients who aspire to some of these green design goals for their projects.
Open and honest collaboration.
More than anything, our practice strives to provide clients with homes, spaces and environments that reflect their individuality and self-expression. We aspire to cocreate fresh spaces that stimulate their day-to-day existence, and ultimately enrich their lives.

Architectural Gut-Renovations
(After & Before)
(After & Before)
“Galo’s real value was to re-imagine the apartment (from the structural bones) and create a space that perfectly conforms to the way contemporary humans prefer to interact with their environment.”

Galo Verdesoto
Galo Verdesoto was raised and resides in New York City. He started his arts education early in life, majoring in architecture at the High School of Art and Design, and continuing at the prestigious Parsons School of Design, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in architectural and environmental design. He continued his formal advanced architecture education while attending Pratt Institute, as well as the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), and he is an AIA (American Institute of Architects) Associate member.
Upon graduation from Parsons, Galo was recruited by faculty member Tim Gunn (now of Project Runway fame) to teach a summer semester abroad at their satellite school in the Dominican Republic: the prestigious Altos De Chavon School of Design. There, drawing on his bilingual ability as he was born in Quito, Ecuador, Galo co-taught freshman year interior design students in Spanish.
Galo's residential architectural and interior design experience spans more than 20 years and countless satisfied clients. He also has extensive experience in commercial, corporate and retail design, including the recent corporate renovation / interior design of a raw Soho loft for INVNT, a global brand and communications agency. Other noted corporate projects include the state of the art, interactive traveling exhibition sponsored by M&M Mars for the promotion of the U.S. Olympics; and projects for NYNEX/New York Telephone (now Verizon) and Credit Suisse/First Boston (now Credit Suisse Group). In the retail realm, he’s worked with Bloomingdale's – doing store design, industrial/product design and promotional design; and at Polo Ralph Lauren's home division – doing furniture design, and product design and development.
“I’ve worked with Galo on multiple, custom high-end interior design projects. What is really amazing is that you would never guess that the same architect and interior designer worked on all four. Each was unique to the space and completely different. He never seems to run out of original ideas.”
Amanda Pratt
“Galo focuses on the last inch - what you see and touch and live with every day. The result is a balanced home that feels luxurious but is always livable – a place that has its own unique sense of self without sacrificing comfort or warmth.”
Hamptons
Our work in the Hamptons arose organically, by request, as existing clients sought architectural consulting, renovation and interior design/decoration services for their summer dwellings. Galo Verdesoto has also spent many of his summers out east.
In turn, we’ve come to know the nuances and temperament of the Hamptons real estate markets, embraced its beach and nature-centered lifestyles, and appreciate the distinct charms and characters of its diverse towns and hamlets. Along the way, we’ve uncovered sources for one-of-a-kind, premium products and services. We now serve our clients in the east end, where the design inspirations can draw on a casual, beach seaside ambiance, the cosmopolitan edge of New York City — or an artful blend of the two.
